CQI Surrey Branch AGM, Holiday Inn,
Egerton Road, Guildford
Tuesday 7th February, 7pm for 7.30pm
Apologies that the Surrey branch has not been able to put on a programme of events so far this season. A number of problems have led to this, including the loss of key committee members to help plan and manage events, the lack of a Branch and SE Regional Treasurer and proposed changes to finance roles impacting our financial planning and flexibility.
A number of things are in the pipeline at Head Office to help resolve these problems, and we have put in a budget to deliver events for the rest of this event year (provisional dates are Tuesday 13th Mar, 8th May and 12th June). However, we also need active participation of local members if we are to have a vibrant, active branch offering local networking opportunities - vitally important for both us and our organisations in the current economic situation.
The current Committee is too small to deliver an effective programme. We need new members to come forward and offer fresh ideas, experience and contacts. It needn’t take a huge amount of time and effort. Thames Valley have successfully weathered the loss of key members because there were enough on the committee – no one became over-burdened. Plus it’s a simple, low-effort way to enhance your CV.
CQI Executive Director for Customer Services Emma Cox will be attending and can answer any questions you may have about the CQI, the services it has to offer, and local and special interest networking and volunteering opportunities available.
If you want to keep the Surrey branch active, even if you can’t take on a Committee role, please confirm your attendance at the AGM on 7th Feb to Secretary Helen Bell on hmbell@dstl.gov.uk or 02392 537455.
